LAUDE British School of Vila-real is an international school from Pre-school to Baccalaureate with 23 years of history. It is located in Vila-real, Castellón, and welcomes pupils aged 2 to 18. We offer a British curriculum complemented with Spanish system subjects, as well as the International Primary Curriculum, guaranteeing that our pupils can gain access to the best Spanish and international universities.
Our educational method is governed by “Amazing Learning”: “Learning means improving academically, socially and emotionally. “Amazing learning” comes when pupils surprise themselves by improving and developing to a higher level than they thought they could.”
LAUDE British School of Vila-real highlights the individuality of each pupil. We tirelessly focus on each child’s capacity to amaze us. Whether through tutorials, enriching activities or personal study, The British School of Vila-real recognises and fosters the individual interests and talents of each pupil, so they can surprise themselves and inspire others to achieve their full potential.

WHY CHOOSE US?
What sets us apart
One of our main characteristics is our multilingualism, making us a benchmark school in our province. In addition to the school’s vehicular languages, English and Spanish, we offer Valencian, German, French and Chinese.
Fully focused on academic standards, our results are always exceptional. Both students sitting GCSE and A Levels and those sitting the Spanish university entrance exam get extraordinary grades.
Our teachers are native English speakers and they love teaching, contributing many years of regional and international experience.
At our school we value music, the arts and drama, giving each child the opportunity to develop their confidence and creativity. Drama has consolidated its place in our Secondary curriculum.
This makes us the benchmark school in our province, as does our broad, distinctive offer of subjects such as Business Studies, Computing Science, Further Maths, Graphic Design and Psychology.
We are a truly inclusive school. We praise the individuality of each child, prioritise their safety and well-being, and provide custom support when needed.
AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AND SUMMER COURSE
We offer a wide range of after-school and sports activities, and unique opportunities for secondary pupils.
Our summer course gives pupils the chance to study in English, learn Spanish and get to know a new culture.
The goal of this stage is to provide children with the best first steps for learning. We strive to help pupils develop and grow in a stimulating and safe environment, full of incredible learning opportunities, while also challenging and motivating children to achieve their full potential. We emphasise “active learning” and “practical” personal experiences, and we focus on developing the learning process through free play, guided play and imaginative play, as well as other more formal activities.
We want to ensure children receive a full curriculum with which they can discover and cultivate their individual talents to guarantee they all achieve success and realise their full potential. For this, we offer a combination of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the British national curriculum (BNC). The goal is to promote the development of pupils’ knowledge, understanding and skills as part of their learning process and a broader curriculum.
We teach the British National Curriculum at a high level in all areas, while offering subjects required from the Spanish curriculum. The main attraction is the wide variety of subjects introduced, in addition to preparing for IGCSE exams. We offer a broad, distinctive range of subjects so our pupils can experience different aspects of education and plan their future lives. In the final years they study German, French and Chinese, as well as foreign languages they can later study as official IGCSE and A Level subjects.
Students prepare for their A Level exams (equivalent to the Spanish university entrance exam). These are required to be accepted to a university. With A Levels our pupils have access to universities in Spain and worldwide as they obtain dual Spanish and British qualifications. Our Baccalaureate pupils specialise by choosing the subjects they are most interested in depending on their university aspirations. This stage is what makes us stand out most as no other school in Castellón offers this curriculum.
DEBATE TEAM AND COMPETITIONS
Our debate clubs are held during the Secondary stage. Our team has won the regional European Youth Parliament phase for two consecutive years. In fact, two LAUDE BSV pupils were selected from 20 schools in the Region of Valencia to lead, organise and coordinate “The European Youth Parliament in Valencia” held in March 2019.
At LAUDE British School of Vila-real we offer our Secondary pupils career, university, social and emotional guidance, and we will continue to work to ensure our Secondary and Baccalaureate pupils are well prepared to win grants in any subject.
Our Baccalaureate pupils take part in university fairs, and have the chance to visit different universities before deciding which degree to study. Pupils also have an “Educational Mentor” who helps them with matters such as correct time management, connecting with their personal vocation, organising daily tasks and motivating them to increase their concentration by learning study techniques that best adapt to their ways of learning.
MODEL UNITED NATIONS
Model United Nations conferences are held all over the world and attended by thousands of pupils. They are designed to help them improve their research and oratory skills, as well as to develop leadership and confidence speaking in public. Pupils must learn to think quickly, and prepare and defend arguments for and against real international topics to represent their respective countries.
ISP BUDDY EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
This programme offers pupils aged 14 to 17 the chance to go on a one-month exchange with ISP schools from around the world. Our pupils can discover other people, cultures and countries, another great learning experience.
ISP SUMMER CAMP
Summer camps where our pupils get together with children from other ISP schools worldwide. They enjoy a multicultural experience in New Orleans where they learn about the history of the USA and how so many different cultures have influenced the American culture, and also how this culture influences current affairs.
